Making eye contact

Viewing a virtual environment through a 3D headset can be a bit of a dislocated sensation, even though the sense of visual immersion is very strong. But imagine if another avatar in that environment seemed to know you were there and looked you straight in the eyes! Or by looking at an object you could get some kind of response from it. Well, SensoMotoric Instruments  have developed an eye-tracking modification to the Oculus Rift headset that enables just that.  We haven’t tried it in the EIC yet, but it’s only a matter of time 🙂
